Frequently Asked Questions

What is Admissions Buddy?

Admissions Buddy is an online service that allows you to review your financial counselling information at your convenience. The information provided includes an estimated cost of your admission / day surgery / endoscopy, for the purpose of selecting the most appropriate ward type based on your needs and means. It also gives a breakdown on the Medisave, MediShield Life / Integrated Shield Plan coverage, and the estimated cash payment.
With Admissions Buddy, you can also request for a change in your preferred ward type and make online payment for deposit prior to admission. Please note that your preferred ward type is subjected to availability on the actual day of admission.
Admission Buddy can be accessed through https://admissionsbuddy.singhealth.com.sg/

Who can log in to Admissions Buddy?

Admissions Buddy is currently offered as a pilot and is available to SGH patients with pre-admission test (PAT) appointment only, KKH patients from O&G clinics, ENT clinic, and Clinic P only, as well as patients from Alexandra Hospital (managed by Sengkang Health) who are listed for surgery. It will be available for patients at NHCS at a later date.
Admissions Buddy is not available to those who are admitted urgently from the Specialist Outpatient Clinics, Accident & Emergency or transferred directly from other healthcare institutions.
If you are eligible, you can log in to Admissions Buddy with your SingPass. Parents of patients below age 15 can also log in to Admissions Buddy if they wish to view their child’s financial counselling information. They must be registered as the Next-of-Kin in the institution’s system.

Can Admissions Buddy be accessed through mobile devices?

Although Admissions Buddy can be accessed through the Internet browser of your mobile devices, we do not recommend it as some of the information and graphics may not display properly. Please use your personal computer or laptop instead.

If you are previously registered as the Next-of-Kin of your child during the time he/she visited the Specialist Outpatient Clinic, you will be able to access his/her admission details in Admissions Buddy. Once your child reaches the age of 15, he/she can apply for a SingPass to log in to Admissions Buddy.

Your child’s admission details will be tagged to you if you have previously registered yourself as the Next-of-Kin in the institution’s system. Since your spouse is not registered as the Next-of-Kin, he/she will not be able to view the child’s admission details using his/her SingPass login.

I have been scheduled for a procedure in your hospital. Why am I unable to see my admission details in Admissions Buddy?

You may log in to Admissions Buddy to view your admission or financial counselling information 3 working days from the date of visit at the Specialist Outpatient Clinic when the doctor ordered the admission or procedure.

If you are scheduled for admission, you can request for a change in ward type by clicking on ‘Request Change’ under the ‘Compare Ward Types and Cost’ section. Change of ward type via Admissions Buddy is not allowed 3 days before your pre-admission appointment or 5 days before admission. Please also note that your preferred ward type is subjected to availability on the actual day of admission.

I have requested to change the ward type from ‘B2’ to ‘C’. However, this is not updated in Admissions Buddy.

Your request to change the ward type will be reflected after 8am the following day. However, please be informed that your request is still subjected to availability on the actual day of admission.

I have just submitted a request to change the ward type in the morning. I would like to change to another ward type now but Admissions Buddy does not allow me to do so.

You are allowed to submit one change request per day. You may submit a new request for change the following day after 8am.

I have paid the initial deposit through the Admissions Buddy earlier in the day. I would like to change to another ward type now but Admissions Buddy does not allow me to do so.

As your payment is still being processed, Admissions Buddy will temporarily suspend further request to change ward type. You may submit a new request for change of ward type the following day after 8am.
Once the new request for change of ward have been put through, any excess deposit paid will be used to offset the final bill after discharge. The balance will be refunded to the credit card 2 weeks after final bill payment.

Why am I unable to change my ward type for my admission?

Change of ward type is not allowed if the admission or procedure falls under these scenarios:

  1. Cosmetic procedures or other non-standard medical services

  4. Iodine treatment
  5. Sleep study
  6. Video Electroencephalogram (EEG)
  7. Within 3 days before and on day of PAT

An e-receipt will be generated upon successful payment and emailed to you. You may print out the receipt and bring along on admission day.
